Abou Kone

Abou Kone

Director of Engineering (Ivory Coast)

Dubbing his personal blog “The Technological African” was a way for Abou Kone, a Cote d’Ivoire native now living in Maryland, to shock and refactor the thinking of his American developer colleagues at a time when the association of these two words seemed like an oxymoron. Technology “Made in Africa” has evolved since then and is getting more of a recognition at an international level but it summarized the thinking and attitude of this veteran front end developer with a passion for building web applications. After a BS in Computer Science from California State University, he obtained a M.S in Information Systems from the University of Maryland in order to add an official stamp on a seasoned work experience and knowledge that involved delivering high quality web solutions for clients and companies ranging from nonprofits to startups and Fortune 500 companies. A curious mind and voracious reader, you will find him most of the time consuming information from various sources all with the intended purpose of becoming a better citizen of the world. After amassing enough experience through his various work and entrepreneurial endeavors which include starting a nonprofit to help introduce kids to coding at a young age as well a couple of mobile ventures, his next mission in line with his passion for building software is to help with the rise of Africa as a global force to reckon with in the world of software development by helping train and mentor the next generation of African coding minds.
